This particular example is a limited edition "Classic" edition built to celebrate the end of production of the Mk1 in 1997/1998. Subsequently there were just 400 Classic edition built.
The main aspects of the cars that were different were the addition of 5 spoke 15" wheels, all black coachwork, black leather seats with red stitching, black leather gearstick and handbrake gaitors with red stitching, Stainless steel rear brace, stainless steel sill cover kick plates, 1.8i engine, MOMO steering wheel and power steering.
This car has been family owned from new and is supplied with THE most comprehensive of history files from new. Firstly the original sales brochure is with the car that was used to build up its spec when being ordered The first owners handwirting is present and even documents the overall purchase price of £18,500 new.
The history file is simply marvellous with all of the original hand books and service book being present in its correct docuemnt wallet, 3 keys and various old MOT's and service and maintenance documents.
The coachwork is near perfect with zero rust on the body whatsoever. The engine runs perfectly with ample power transfered smoothly though the 5 speed manual gearbox and the interior is completely faultless for its age too. The car is also supplied with a factory hard top with a heated rear screen, and an unused hood bag and wind deflector.
