Vehicle Description
Launched in 1962, The Daimler 250 V8 was essentially a rebadged Mk 2 Jag fitted with Daimler’s 2.5 litre V8 engine and drive-train, a Daimler fluted grille and rear number plate surround, distinctive wheel trims, badges, and interior details including a split-bench front seat from the Jaguar Mark 1 and a black enamel steering wheel. Special interior and exterior colours were specified. Most cars were fitted with power-assisted steering but it was optional. Automatic transmission was standard; manual, with or without overdrive, became an option in 1967

This particular example Is a rare optioned manual O/D car (one of the first spec’d overdrive cars produced. It resided in its former ownership for a long period of time.(20 years to be exact) while in such time it has been subjected to “sympathetic improvements”. This includes a recent suspension build carried out by a marque specialist Along with a bare metal respray and an engine.gearbox overhaul carried out some time previous.

The car itself presents extremely well while still retaining its “worn and patina’d” feel. The engine and gearbox are very smooth and without issue and the drive is very rewarding in all ways! The ownership is low (just 3 former keepers from new!) and the history file is comprehensive!

The interior is all original including the hide and veneer and all of the equipment works as it should. A reminder of just how nice a place it is to sit!

A great chance to own a great usable, Daimler V8, free of corrosion excellent to drive and with real presence on the road
