1973/M MGB GT Factory V8 –

A rare opportunity to purchase a documented low owner and low mileage MGB GT factory V8. One of just 1839 “chrome bumper” units supplied with the widely known “Rover V8” produced between 1973 and 1976 by the MG cars.

This example boast pedigree from the outset having only had 2 former keepers (The last owner having acquired the vehicle in 1982) Purchased on 12/12/1973 by Mrs J.H Hardy of Newbold road, Chesterfield who was actually the wife of the supplying dealer. Mrs Hardy owned the vehicle for 7 years and in that time covered just 22,928 miles which was verified in the form of a signed letter stating that she had owned the vehicle from new and recorded the exact mileage of the vehicle upon the date of sale to the second owner, a Mr Brocklehurst . This was also done by Mr Brocklehurst who utilised the vehicle for just 2 years before selling the vehicle on to the Mr A Webster (the gentleman we purchased the vehicle from). He also added a letter verifying the mileage reading as being a genuine 34,560 miles. Mr Alan Webster who bought the vehicle on 11th April 1982 went on to comprehensively document the history of the vehicle in its entirety. Retaining many old MOT certificates and check lists along with maintenance receipts.

This vehicle is supplied in its original factory “Aconite purple” only 98 examples were supplied in this colour in total to complement its 100% original “Autumn leaf” cloth interior. This vehicle in essence is unrestored but with the knowledge of having been properly cared for since it was supplied from new. Recently fitted with 5 near ‘Goodyear’ supplied onto its original factory wheels along with Electronic ignition and cooling fans and a full stainless steel exhaust. Many receipts to document all work undertaken.

This vehicle is not to be confused with other aftermarket V8’s or tired examples of the real thing.

A very desirable, honest example destined to only appreciate.
