Here we have a lovely, recent fully restored January 1974 Triumph GT6. Having covered around 1000 miles since a full ‘body off’ restoration, this Mimosa Yellow GT6 is as fresh as they get with everything road tested and bedded in fully. Rebuilt to standard specification but with the sensible additions of a spin on oil filter conversion, brake servo & gas struts on the bonnet.

Engine, gearbox & rear axle have all been fully rebuilt, again to standard specification. Starts 1st turn of the key with a little choke from cold, the silky smooth 6 cylinder just purrs away, waiting for a gear to be engaged and driven!

Brakes & suspension again have been fully stripped and rebuilt using replacement parts where necessary. The original steel wheels have been blasted & painted then shod with Michelin XAS tyres.

Once you get behind the wheel of this ‘mini e type’, the original, rebuilt seats are a delight to sit in, the new carpet & trim kit fit very well. As you would expect from a full re-build, the interior fit and finish is as good as the exterior.

The addition of a brake servo allows the vehicle to pull to a stop quickly and safely. The grip from the Michelin XAS tyres are superb and such a nice period tyre to really finish this vehicle off.

As you can imagine, this GT6 drives very well on the road, the overdrive works as it is intended and the engine is keen to go.

To summarise, this ‘last of the line’ MK3 GT6 is ready to be used as intended by it’s new custodian.

The history file with this vehicle backs up all the works done with receipts and indeed a photographic record. Also present is the history file from the previous owners, information going back to the 1st owner who kept it for over 4 years before passing to the next owner. In total it has had 13 former keepers.

You would struggle to find a better one for this price!!
