1971 TRIUMPH TR6
Here we have a May 1971 registered ‘CP’ TR6. Having been rebuilt by a TR Register member several years ago to tour Europe in, this very presentable TR6 was built to standard specification with continental touring in mind.
It has completed many Tr Register trips abroad, the previous owner was very fussy with the rebuild and indeed the upkeep of this vehicle that it has been meticulously maintained. Only reason for the sale is another project has entered the garage……
Looking very pretty in Damson with black interior, the Minilite style wheels really finish of the look of this 70’s sports car.
The overdrive works well, the gearbox nice and quiet, the engine is eager to press on (rolling road tuned).
As you would expect from a previous restoration, the brakes and suspension were all replaced and it holds the road very well. Happy to sit at 70 mph on the motorways (I drove it back on the motorways) in comfort.
Extra’s include period Lucas front fog/spot lamps, boot rack, Mota-Lita steering wheel looks very good in front of the Burr Walnut dashboard.
Magnecor lead set has been fitted to this 2500cc straight 6 cylinder Lucas petrol injected engine to ensure it’s getting the best spark it can. A hood bag is present for the vehicle for when you want to fold that hood down and let the wind go through your hair.
This TR6 is not a fresh out the box restoration, it is a vehicle that has been tried and tested since 2011/2012 when the previous owner finished it to his liking. She still turns heads when parked up, the paint is showing ‘use’ in places but nothing of concern.
Any trial welcome, don’t wait to long to come and see it for yourself, the prices of TR’s are going up!
A folder full of receipts are present, 2 sets of keys and upon purchase 12 months free membership to the TR Register
