Built 19th February 1968, this TR5 was despatched to Whites Garages Grimsby on 18th March 1968 White with black (Ambla) interior, just as it sits today. Having only 5 previous owners in its 51 years, the latest custodian has owned it for 7 years. Sitting very well on a set of chrome 72 spoke wire wheels, the external appearance of the car is very good, considering it’s an ‘older’ restoration. The interior is very nice, having MX5 type seats (can supply original) fitted & a burr walnut wooden dash with Mota-Lita steering wheel. A surrey roof is a desirable addition to this TR5 Engine produces good oil pressure with no known issues, the A type overdrive works as it should.

The history file on this vehicle is lovely, the original log book is present, along with the previous copies. MOT certificates dating back to 1975. Very good history from the past 10+ years. In the history file is handwritten notes of previous work carried out, a nice personal touch! Benefits from a Bosch fuel pump, electric fan kit is also present. The suspension has been poly bushed and the rear has a telescopic damper conversion. This particular TR5 has been featured in Classic Car magazine articles. It came away from the 2009 TR Register international weekend at Malvern as a Gold medal winner in the pride of ownership.

To summarise, this matching numbers February ’68 build vehicle is ready for many more adventures on any road you with to take. With it being an older restoration, it shows ‘patina’ but don’t let that put you off, it would still look good in a show arena!

Arguably, the most desirable of the TR range. A simply stunning drive! All vehicles are sold with 12 months MOT, pre collection full service by marque specialists TR Enterprises. You will also benefit from 12 months free membership to the TR Register!
