1973/L Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is a sports car marketed in both 2+2 coupe (1955–1974) and convertible (1957–1974) body styles by Volkswagen. The Karmann Ghia combined the chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1 (Beetle) with styling by luigi segre of the Italian carrozzeria Ghia and hand-built bodywork by the German coach-builder Karmann.
This example is an infamous “rust free” car imported form California in 1998. When the vehicle was imported by the former keeper in 1998 it didn’t see the open road even though it was registered due to work commitments until the point came where the vehicle was sold onto the current keeper on the logbook as a result of a divorce.
When the vehicle was purchased by the current keeper in 2008 he performed a full mechanical and bodywork overview/inspection where all faults were addressed. At this point an engine rebuild was commissioned along with a full body respray (due to “sun bleaching” in California before being exported). This vehicle is now presented in the highest of standards having also recently being completely re-trimmed in cream (including the carpets). Supplied by us freshly serviced with 4 new tyres and with 12 months MOT. This car is ready for the road.
